No audio track!

I just got a Panasonic AC160 a month ago and filmed a bunch of concerts in 1080/60i, and used the LPCM audio. I edited it with no prob in Premiere Pro CS5.5.

But now I am playing with shooting in 1080/60P, and using same LPCM audio. But now when I load the clips on the timeline in Premiere, there is no audio track! Yet I can play the clips back in camera and it plays back the audio just fine. I was very careful to select AVCHD---1080P, with 48000 audio.

What am I doing wrong? is there a plug-in or update that I need to edit 1080/60P with LPCM audio? Any suggestions would sure be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Re: No audio track!

Steve,

I had the same problem with LPCM audio on 50p/60p footage from my Sony NX70. Adobe didn't support LPCM audio in 1080p 50 clips in CS5 for me. They fixed this in CS6.

It worked fine with 720p50, 1080i50 and even 1080p25 with LPCM audio, but 1080p50 with LPCM was a step too far.

The only fix I know of is to upgrade to CS6 or use something else to convert the files to something usable.

Mike, thanks for the fast reply!
That is discouraging if it takes an upgrade to CS6, I just got CS5.5 a couple months ago! But its good to kinow what the problem is.

Re: No audio track!

If you just got 5.5 in the past couple months, do you qualify for the free upgrade to CS6? I had purchased 5.5 a couple days before the official free upgrade period, however, after sending Adobe the receipt, they ended up giving me the upgrade. Of course, the uprade still isn't 100% complete almost 7 weeks later, but at least I didn't have to pay for it.
