Hybrid HD for Premiere?

Hi guys,

I was thinking about getting a new hard drive for my laptop and since a 500GB or so SSD is REALLY expensive I was thinking about the Momentus XT 750GB hybrid HD. I´ve read some good things about it for everyday use but I´m not yet convinced it will do something for Premiere, as I´ve also read the benefit is that it uses allocated memory on tasks it marks as regular (most used apps and such). Does anyone have any experience with it?

simply get a 120gb ssd for system and then any 7.2k for video....

It´s a laptop. I cannot stick 2 HDs on it.
At the moment I have a 5400rpm HD, so I´m guessing I should notice SOME speed improvement with someting like a Momentus XT, right?

You will - Windows will load faster, and software will open faster, once the solid state memory has learnt the files you use frequently.

There will be a general performance gain as this is a 7200 rpm drive rather than 5400 rpm. You will still really need to have your video assets on an external 7900 rpm drive connected by eSATA.

At least that was my experience when I made this change to my laptop.
