timeline playback: 5D fine / 70D choppy! what gives?

Hi Folks!

Strangest thing: footage from my old Canon 5D MkII and even T2i run buttery smooth on the timeline but as soon as I drop some Canon 70D footage it plays back all choppy and jittery. I suspect it has something to do with the codec used by the cameras but not sure what to do about it. Apparently, only I seem to be plagued by this problem. I've asked around and no one else seems to have this issue.

What could be the problem??

This seems to be Mac-specific, but maybe it might help:

Are you sure you didn't use a high shutterspeed. That could make it look choppy.

Are you sure your harddrive isn't full and the files aren't fragmented all over the place?

Did you check properties of files from both cameras and compare them?

(I have no sulotion for you right now, but hopefully the questions will lead to a solution.)

The problem resolved itself when I upgraded from CS5.5 to CC 2014! Who would have thought!
