Boom Pole?

What would you recommend for a cheap boom pole? It'll be holding an AT-55.

A carbon-fiber painting extension tube is cheap. PVC is cheaper still.

Cheap usually means heavy. If you're not the one holding the boom, well, someone has to hold it.

PVC has a lot of flex (aka bounce). The painter poles, when I checked, were way to heavy and too long even collapsed to fit in a car. I ended up going with a lighbulb changing pole. It is light to hold and colapses down to something around 6' with a max of 11'. There is some slight flex when it is fully extended, but not a lot.

I use it with an AT897 (11") with foam wind shield in a shockmount and with an AT835b (14").
