MircoTrack Pro & Voice Technologies

Hey all,

I noticed that there is a lav made by voice technologies that is made for the MicroTrack Pro.

Does anyone have this? I am thinking about buying two of these buggers to mic a couple of actors for an extreme wide shot.

Does this sound like a nightmare?

The Voice Technologies VT500 lav is pretty good in that it is very comparible to the Tram50. They have a peaked response version and a flat response version. The peaked VT500 has a tendency to reveal more clothing noise when wardrobe is not considered for sound.

Of course, the trouble w/ planting the recorder on an actor is the lack of control over the optimum input level. And the lack of being able to monitor the sound for quality control. It will also be tougher to sync the audio in post without a reference going to the camera.

It's not a nightmare. It could work. It might not work. It's less reliable than a good wireless system being monitored and mixed by a good sound person.
