Mid-range price Headset Monitor

Finally, I am able to get a headset monitor. I will use it for Production Sound monitoring and post-production mixing monitoring…
Yes, I understand for post-production monitoring, a decent Monitors Speaker is better for the job. However I can’t afford a pair of Monitors Speakers and a quite mixing environment yet. So I think a decent headset monitor is better for me right now.

I’ve been looking at different headset monitor and come down to 3 chooses in similar price range.
Sennheiser HD-280 PRO
Sennheiser HD-25 SP
Sony Pro MDR-7506

After look at different reviews, Sennheiser HD280 PRO and HD 25SP seem like a better fit for me and easier to purchase here.

Anyway, I would really appreciate to hear any opinion and recommendation from you guys.

Headphone.

All of these are excellent choices. what is really important here is what you prefer... The SONY's are great, sound good and are fairly comfortable to wear for extended periods (Over ear design), the SP25 sound great as well but they are "On the ear" type, light and sound good. the 280 are ok. what I like about the SP25's is that every component can be replaced with over the counter parts, ie.. if you rip the cable, you can order the cable separetly (and replace yourself) as well as if one of the sides gets damaged or the headband. with the others , you chunk them in the trash and order another pair, or send them back for warranty (and wait,if they are still in warranty)... the sony's are hit or miss if the left ear will go out. (product issue that has been around since the introduction), but if you get a good pair , they are prety awesome. I have a pair that is over 10 years old and have been submersed in water for a few months (I was out of the country) then I just dried them and they are still working for me today...

I use the Sennheiser 280 headphones quite a bit. They are durable and are excellent at sound rejection. They are good for field work. However, for studio work, comfort is key. The AKG K240 Studio headphones are a standard there. I can wear them for hours and the sound quality is excellent. I think they have models that are closed back if that is required.

Thank you~~~~

Thx Gerry and Ernest

After some calculation, I think I would go for Sennheiser HD 25.... yes, its 25 not 25 SP. here is the reason

In New Zealand, the price of HD25SP, HD-280 PRO and MDR-7506 is around $300-350 NZD and HD25 is $550 NZD. If I purchase a HD25 at USA that would be around $200 USD ($267NZD). Such a huge different~~~~ at my point of view, I can get a HD25 by paying the price of HD25SP.

If you will be spending around $300 for headphones, you can instead get a decent pair of powered studio monitors for the same price. I bought Yorkville YSM2Ps for about that price and am very pleased with them. And there are many ways to create a quiet listening environment without spending $.
that said, heres another post on headphones:
