Any advice on splitting an XLR

I would like to come off of the mic and send it to two separate mixing boards. I have seen lots of xlr splitters and wondering if anyone has had good or bad luck with them.

I have never done this before so someone with experience please help.

Splitting XLR Mic

I personally like all the whirlwind brand splitters. they are top notch and they are easy to get at your local music store (Guitar center) or the likes. as long as you dont try using y cables and use a "real" Mic splitter, you should be ok. if you can get one that uses Jensen brand transformers, even better. if you need phantom power for your mic, be sure that the particular one is capable of passing the phantom on to the mic, and not to the other mixer.
