Olympus LS-10 -- weak line input??

I just got my LS-10 today in time to record an event from the RCA "tape out" jacks on the sound board. I was only getting about -36 dB peaks with the recording level control turned all the way up. When I substituted my Sony HiMD recorder, the levels from the board were were fine. Does anyone with an LS-10 think I have a defective unit?

[Edit] I answered my own question. The LS-10 input is specified for -6dB. I put a known -6db (.5 volt) 1000Hz signal into it and got -12 dB on the level meter with the record level set mid range. As to why the board was putting out such a low "tape out" signal, I don't know. As to why the Sony HiMD recorder was fine with it, I don't know either, unless the board had a high output impedance and the LS-10 has a much lower input impedance than the HiMD
