A good pair of Wireless Lavs? Lectro 100?
 

Is there any alright systems available to get interference and noise free audio for about $1000 per channel? Dual receiver is preferred but I don't see anything else that SONY and ATW 1800 systems out there and then the Lectrosonics 100 system that seems better in build and size wise.
I would like to keep my subject wired all day and switch it on/off when I need to - in documentary, live event style.

I would buy a book along too if recommended.

a Lectro 100 series transmitter and receiver is about $1000 at B&H.
A Lectro 400 series with a 411 series receiver and an LM transmitter with an Omni mic is about $2700.

The AT dual series 1800 with 2 body paks is about $1300 plus a couple of good mics like the AT899 or Countryman EMWs you'll add about $400 for a total of about 1700 to 1800.

I've been using the AT system since about January and it is really a very good system but there's nothing like a Lectro as long as its the digital hybrid trans and receiver

I actually like the Zaxcom TRX900 series. It's full digital unlike the Lectro systems. The 411 system is nice, but I like the ability of using the TRX900 with the stereo adapter so I can go full wireless to a camera, or using it with a DPA or Sanken as a wireless lav for talent. But there is a price difference of nearly $1000, which is all this individual is looking to spend per wireless.

I love it when producers tell me they can spend $x.xx per day on wireless and want 6 or 7 high-end wireless units. I don't think most producers really know how much these radios go for.

yeah, I left the Zaxcom out but only because of the money. Beleive me, if I had the cash I'd buy a couple of the units but I don't want to have to sleep on the couch. Methinks my wife would be a bit upset ;-)

Maybe I should go for Countryman EMWs (with 3.5mm plug) and some pocket recorders like the Yamaha PockeTrak 2G instead. But then nobody will have the control over the sound levels after it's set on the recorder, no limitimg, nothing - dead end I assume.

The EMW needs phantom power (at least 5v, I think) and I´m not sure the Yamaha recorder provides it.

The wireless versions of EMW will work with 1.5V plug-in power, there is a remark in Yamaha manual that the recorder does provide plug-in power but this is to be confirmed. Sticking a Sony PCM D50 into pocket is kinda cumbersome...
