Possible Sennheiser G2 purchase

I'm an audio virgin, so please be gentle.

I've got an older (but brand new condition) ew112-p boxed wireless set for tryout.
Hand held mic, lav, two transmitters, and a receiver...

Is it safe to assume that an old set (518-554 mhz), that was purchased several years ago, is up to par as any newer set? ie firmware, components, frequency range etc....
This would help me determine a fair asking price.

I have NO clue what to offer.

You mentioned that it is a "G2" which means Generation 2.

There was an earlier model that was not a "G2"

G2's use two AA batteries.

Older models use one 9 Volt battery.

Most people feel that the G2 is better. Some feel that the earlier model sounds better, but I do not think the majority of people feel this way.

Personally, I prefer the G2.

Now, to answer your question:

All G2's are probably the same, meaning that they have the same features, firmware, etc. (As far as i know).

The G2 that you are referring to a an "A" model which indicates the frequency range, (not features or firmware).

I recommend not purchasing the "C" model due to the FCC auctioning off these frequencies.
(But this applies to the US, I do not know what Canada will do.)
This is a moot point as you are considering an "A" model.

Either "A" or "B" model, "G2" would be my choice.

Great...

I can get to Ebay, or other venues, and see what these units go for, and feel safe that I have a good quality product...

Thank you...

Please note that while you have two transmitters, since you only have one receiver, you can only use one microphone at a time.

You can, however, purchase an additional G2 receiver then you could use both transmitters simultaneously.
