Strange Audio Faults

1: an intermittent buzzing on the microphone input. Cable changed, routing of cable changed, connectors all examined. Still there. Cause: the focus puller had put a fly in the windgag during lunch.

2: a semi-musical twang whenever the clapper went on. Board examined, people scrutinise the boom operator at the start of each take. Cause: elastic bands stretched over the announce mic on the mixer being plucked....it was a VERY boring shoot.

3: The sound of a kitten mewing from a corner of the sound stage. Cause: boom operator with an uncanny ability to throw his voice.

4: The big doors on the sound stage opening without being ordered. Cause: mischievous sound crew had recorded the gaffer spark calling for the doors to be opened, then playing this back at an inappropriate moment over speakers placed near the console operator.

Anyone else?
