using a zoom h2 for recording sound efx?
Here is a bit of background for my the upcoming questions. I own a sony pcm d50 recorder but am leery of using it for foley sound efx for a film because I cannot record in mono. I can use a zoom h2 but it just seems to create stereo files with identical information on each track. Basically I am a bit confused about what recorder (either PCM D50 or Zoom H2) I should use for sound efx and why. Any help on sound efx recording or how I should use these units would be greatly appreciated.
I should also mention I will be using a sound devices 302 mixer and I have an AKG CK 93 mic which I power with the mixer and then connect to the recorder. I use final cut pro and sound track pro to add audio to the video. Thanks. |
