WS7 windshield vs Rycote windshield kit
Hi,
I am leaving soon for southeast asia for shooting a doc. I dont have any permits or ata carnet so I will have to stay lowprofile while filming and recording sound. I own a rycote windshieldkit with zeppelin and deadcat but this looks to big and to pro. will the much smaller WS7 windshield from Rode will be a good enough alternative for the ntg3? any remarks on the situation more then welcome thanks |

I have to agree that after using rycotes for over 28 years the rode ws-7 and ws-6 are up to the job and are very well made.
I use the WS-6 on my Z7/S270 camera mics and rode ntg-1, it is way better than a foam windscreen and a windcutter/dead cat. Just to add the pistol grip is also very well made and the retail prices are very good. I paid £75 for a grip + WS-6 and £28 for a WS-6 on its own. |
