Sandwich Wireless receiver between A/B Goldmount... or?
 

I want to cleanly attach a wireless receiver on the JVC GY250. I was thinking of sandwiching it between the Anton Bauer Goldmount plate and the batterie. Or simply, have some sort of bracket for it. I don't want to place it on the hot shoe or have it hang cheaply. Any suggestions on placement and wireless brands that will do the trick?

unless it's made to fit between the battery and mounting plate it won't work. It's requires a special unit and while Azden and I think Zaxcom and Lectro do make them you can get either BEC group or Anton Bauermounting plates and boxes to mount and hold your wireless either to the side of or behind the battery. Depends on how much you want to spend.

B&H lists pretty much everything both companies offer.

This may sound obvious but Velcro is pretty cheap and works great. A lot of camera ops just put Velcro on their batteries and a couple of strips on the transmitter case and let the transmitter ride on the battery. You can buy expensive brackets but the flat area on the back of a brick battery works very well as a landing area for a wireless transmitter. When it is time to change the battery, just rip the transmitter off, replace battery and secure it back on, takes no time at all.

I do EXACTLY what Dan has suggested above. As well, there is a side plate available for the AB Gold Mount to allow similar mounting on a metal surface attached to the mount instead of the battery. FTR, my wireless, properly stuck with Velcro, has NEVER so much as budged.

I've done the velcro trick for years with my Senny G2 receiver on the back of my Z1.. works fine and far better than having it on top for the hotshoe or dangling off the handstrap.

Mine has never come off either with the heavy duty velcro..
