PMD 670 Question

If anyone who uses the new Marantz recorder could answer a question for me...Is there a delay between the ins and the outs during recording?

Or are the outs even hot, while recording?

Thanks.

No delay but there is a several second pre record buffer. the input buffer is live all the time , so when you record, the buffer includes what has been said before you hit recpord.

The Marantz manual has all of this info.

If you do buy one , be sure to buy the Portabrace case and don't waste your money on the battery paks. buy boxes of AAA batteries and be done with the bull sh!t.

This is a very proffesional piece of gear complete with limiters, mic preamps, filtration, attenuation and almost anything you might need.

So what do you do for sync? I was thinking if you could send a loop through to the camera, it would help with syncing later. Does this still drift?

I guess short scenes and a clap would be easy to work with.
