Read some back threads . I've posted many links to basic audio sites, some within the past week.

To answer your questions we have to write a book. There's a great one already in print by Jay Rose. You'll find the link in the same thread.

It would take a book to answer all of your questions - and even then the answers would probably be not the most accurate for your application.

On a forum like this, it's far more efficient for all concerned to cite a specific application, or intended use, for a specific item (like a mixer, or mic, or whatever) - and then allow other members to answer with their opinions, experience, etc.

It gets pretty messy trying to answer 21 questions under 1 topic in a forum like this.

edit: Bryan, you beat me to it!

I found the link for all of the reading. It was actually an answer to one of your earlier posts.

The best advice i can give you is read through past posts and do searches based on components of each question. I know there has been plenty written about mixers, some recently. It depends on what your budget is and what your use will be.

Do some reading at WWW.sounddevices.com
