Audio Technica AT4041

The pawn shop down the street has a Audio Technica AT4041 i was wondering if any one knew anything about this mic. he is asking for 200.00 canadian i have checked on-line and this seems like a good price. I would be useing this with a DVX-100 or a DVC-80 for the main mic.
thanks

New or used? If used, be cautious, but if new, jump on it. Used, look for rust or any stikiness in the head removal process. These are good mics, but moisture can damage their integrity pretty quick.

it looks really good it is in the case and it looks like it has never been used. I will take it apart and check it out. Will it be good for conversations ?

It's gonna work for conversations, but if there is much distance it might sound a little thin because it's got a little bump in the high end. It's more a piano or acoustic mic.

We are talking Canadian here and at todays high dollar it's still about $150 US. I did a test on this mic and it did do better than the ME66 for dialog.

Try the mic, if'n it works try and talk the guy down a few bucks or just take it. Canadian price is over $450 on a new one.

I have clips of this mic if you're interested. Email me
