shock mount questions

I have some questions. I'm wondering which is a better made/designed hot shoe shock mount:

Beyerdynamic EA86 camera shoe shock mount ($59 Canadian)
Sennheiser's model for their ME66 ($40 Canadian)
I can buy the Senn locally, I can't buy the Beyerdynamic locally (added shipping cost).

The Senn has a screw hole for using an adaptor to mount it to something else such as a tripod; I don't know is the Beyerdynamic has this.

I will be using the shock mount with a Apex 191 mic. Will the Senn be able to hold it?

The Senn has a swivel action. How about the Beyerdynamic?

Thanks

Do you mean the mic clip, if so it isn't a shock mount.

That clip would also be too big. Long and McQuade carry generic mic clips for about $5.

I think that's the one. I got it from a go_f of a salesperson from that place downtown. I guess he didn't know his stuff. Too bad I can't get to look at these mounts locally, to determine what's best, that's why I'm still hung up with this topic. I e-mailed that place in T.O., and I had to e-mail them 3 times to get a reply. (Finally they replied, but were a bit rude about the 3 e-mails.)

What a pain.

I guess I shouldn't have bothered to get the mic until I had hold of the other pieces.

I'd better re-read this thread: http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthrea...threadid=19546

Brian,

The MZS6 is the shock mount version of the MZQ200.

The Beyerdynamics, I like for camera monting. But I would not use either of them, for booming.

A good mount for boom pole use woud be the Audio Technica AT8415
