Microphone Stand Question

I just got the Rode NT4 stero mic (what a beauty!), and it comes with a clip. The clip doesn't screw onto my lightstand, though. Is there an adaptor available? If not, what microphone stand would be suitable? I'd prefer one that could rise higher than usual, since it seems applicable for certain recording situations. I thought of a boom, but was told that a boom would not be recommended for this mic. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Adapters are available. What is the thread size of the stand, 1/4-20 or 3/8 ?

The AT 8415 will hold that puppy and cradle it like a baby. All you need is a $1-$2 threaded bushing any music store should have them.

There are some pictures of the different stereo rigs over at

Look at the "Rig pictures", some even cover the mics with umbrellas.

Seeing that I already have an AT8415, this opens up exciting possibilities alright.

All the Rode mics i've bought came with a 3/8 to 5/8 adapter, with the clip itself being a standard 5/8 mic thread. Your lightstand probably has a 1/4 thread. You can adapt that thread up to 3/8.
The 8415 threads are sized the opposite way of the Rode clip. The AT has a 5/8 to 3/8 adapter, with the yoke having the built-in 3/8 thread.
