Sennheiser SK100 Bodypack Transmitter Wont turn on (displays low Batt Light when off)
 

I have 3 sets of Sennheiser ew100 wireless systems, the oldest set being the larger SK 100 body pack Transmitter and Receiver. Have never had any problems with it until yesterday when I begin setting up my sound for a wedding. The low battery light on the transmitter comes on when ever a battery is installed, without ever turning on the transmitter. When trying to turn on the transmitter, it won't turn on. It's not a low battery, it simply won't turn on. Has anyone ever seen this type of problem?

It happened to me before with G2 series.
Something to do with the interference of the new DTV frequencies.
Check the frequence list on your area and set the receiver to other freq. (unused by DTV) - (on G2 is re-scan for free freq.), then setup the transmitter to that new freq.
It was fixed on my case !

Nope, never seen or heard of this problem before.

Things to check (bleeding obvious, but I'll say it anyway):

1. New batteries

2. Correctly installed (the only "side by side" batteries piece of kit I've ever seen where both batteries go in the same way round!).

Once that's been excluded, I'll play fortune teller and predict you'll be needing on of these in pretty short order:

Bit of a worry they won't service G1 units anymore - you don't mention what yours is, hope it's a G2.

Interestingly, after I read your post I thought I'd go check my "off camera" Senn stuff which has been in the basement unused for nearly the last 6 months (been doing other stuff).

Much to my amazement, given that I only re - batteried them at the last use and topped up the spares battery compartment at the same time - every single Senn unit and a Zoom H4 was as dead as a Dodo.

Not a usable battery in any of them - that's 2 transmitters, one receiver and 2 mic's.

Every one of the spares was raring to go.

Lesson: never, ever store electronic gear with a battery inside.

Not much help to you if 1 & 2 above don't sort your problem.

Thanks for the info. Yeah I suppose it's a lost cause. I guess this is the G1 series. The transmitter (or receiver) isn't labeled as G1 or G2. However, my other 2 sets are the smaller components which are labeled as G2, and this is the older (larger) transmitter and receiver. At least the plug on mic transmitter still works, so I can use that combo.
