Defective K6 Power Module

I've got 2 of them as well as an ME66 and 64. I've mixed and matched cables and channels with the 2 different capsules and the result is always the same. Using phantom power, with one of them I get about half the level I get from the other. Using battery power, its very slightly better.

Any thoughts on fixing this or is it time to throw it away?

Thanks

Hi Jase.........

Think it's time for this:

Sennheiser Canada Inc. - Headphones, Wireless, Microphones, Aviation, Soundfield, Conferencing, Audioguide

You really don't want to go messing about with it yourself.

One of our ME66's developed a noise, sent to Sennheiser USA for repair, was prompt and reasonably priced, as I recall it. You don't need to "throw away" something that valuable and repairable...but if you do, let me send you a prepaid mailer for a receptacle....:) /Battle Vaughan/miamiherald.com video team

Thanks guys for the response. I wasn't sure if the cost of repair would be worth it.

But Battle if you want to send that mailer my way, I probably do have some real junk lying around if you're interested :)

Hi Chris

I just noticed that the link you sent is for Canada. I'm impressed. Thank you!

At US$250 new....................

from B&H, I reckon repair is most definately worth it!

You're sure it's the module and not the mics? In other words, both mics work perfectly with one (the same one) module? In that case, you've identified the bad module and definitely send it in for repair -- or send it to me if you're just going to toss it :)
