Olympus LS-10 thin sounding?

I've read that the sound quality of this recorder, to some people, is a bit thin. Anyone know if this situation applies when using a lav mic? I'm using a quality lav (MKE-2) and don't want to waste it on a less than adequate pre-amp.

There is a slight bass roll-off on the mic. inputs of the LS-10 - the new LS-11 has a slightly less roll-off according to the specs.

The line-in is full frequency response.

Thank John, I appreciate your reply! Looks like the Olympus is the best value for a quality recorder I can see.

LS-10 is an excellent one, especially when the price drop recently, maybe because LS-11 in one the way.
I got a LS-10 and sold it recently. Becuase I heard Olympus is going to release a new one in June which will improve the time accuracy for double system recording. Well, I'm waiting for LS-11 now.

LS-11 is not being sold anywhere that I can find.

Thanks Anthony. I might wait for it also, I don't know.

The (also) soon to be released, Sony PCM-M10 may be of interest, if it sounds anything like the D50. The M10 certainly looks nice anyway.

Yes, M10 certainly looks interested. I'll wait and see and select my best pocket recorder.

What is the best pocket recorder to record low base music?

I am trying to record low base music and would like to be able to listen to what is being recorded. I also wonder about an external mike that can be used with the pocket recorder. What is the best pocket recorder to record low base music? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Joe
