post-prduction music

i'm looking a doing a prmotional video for my company, and after seeing others on the web, i realized that mine would be absolutly horrible without some kind of background audio track. Does anyone have a good source for buying these tracks, or maybe even a place that offers free liscence free music.

I understand this is more of a post production thing, but couldn't find a better place to put this

I've been using SmartSound which, I think, is at www.smartsound.com.

Smartsound is a good way to get acceptable sound for these types of videos.

They have a fair amount of good music that you can buy one song at a time ($19) or by the CD on their Web site. The application will let you treat all of their music as if it were on your computer (for sampling purposes) and will download a selection if you wish to buy it.

Furthermore, you can score a lengthy piece in the application program (called SonicFire) that makes it a fairly easy way to go. Music 'Beds', sound effects, opens and closes are all easy to do. You listen to and watch your video until you come to a place where you want a sound. Mark that in point and an out point, go into the sound selection operation (called Maestro) and after you have selected an appropriate piece, it will drop it into the timeline at the length you requested and the place you defined.

Quicker to do than to describe.

Very nice indeed.
