Audio mixing
 

Hello Everybody,
I need some help ...I am trying to setup a small studio for my own little video editing and I would like to have a hardware control of the audio mixing.Most of my audio will come from the computer except the 1 or 2 channel which will come from the camera.Any suggestion is which is the best control surface for different software for mixing audio ??? I have adobe audition but doesnt mind to change to different software for the better..DigiDesign 2 looks good but a bit pricey...anything else out there...I was trying to look up digi design 001 but that is not a control but more like an input hardware..

MACKIE CONTROL! Read by every major software package there is out there...
Coupled with a good pre and a BIG KNOB tool, it's wonderful

thanks ,great suggestion.I looked Mackie Control up and looks like just what i need...I can use this for 5.1 sound editing too right ??

you can use the mackie control for editing, the only thing you wouldn't be able to do, would be easily pan in surround, that you'd still be using the mouse for.

Personally I agree with Doug, the support for the mackie control is unparelled, and probably your best bet... but, if the surround panning is important because you want a total hardware solution check out:

this bad boy from tascam... it's newer so support will be less developed than with the mackie, but its' pretty bad a*sed, for what it is.
