Mic Mini to XLR - Toronto Solution

I've recently posted on my problem getting a good connection between my Azden SGM-X shotgun (mini-pin) and a Beachtek box. Today I got it solved with the help of Trew Audio, a local supplier with a second location in the US. I got same day delivery for four bucks of a Remote Audio Cable (CAX3M1/8MS) 18", described as "XLR-3M to mini stereo, wired mono". The cable was CDN$35. I have previously admitted bottomless ignorance of all things audio. I can only say that monitoring from the cam I finally got what I expected, which has not been the case with two cables from my beloved B&H, one from my local guru, DV Shop. This isn't meant as a plug for a supplier, just a celebration of finding what I needed thanks to helpful pros. I hope the info helps someone with the same issue.

Reynald the partner at Trew Audio in Toronto has alot of knowledge to share and a very good stock of anything you'd need. I deal there and have been very well taken care of

B&H is a great supplier but sometimes it's costlygetting small items accros the border without paying high shipping and brokerage costs.

Terry at The DV Shoppe is great but he doesn't specialize in audio.

Is this an issue specifically for Azden, or are there similar problems with other mikes with adapting to a mini-plug?

It would be for any mic with a mini stereo out.

Sorry, I'm thinking backwards here. What if the mike is XLR and I want to go directly into my cam which requires a mini-plug. Can I just buy any old adapter from B&H?

I just need a simple solution, but don't want to learn the hard way that my audio is poor.
