noobie - gl2 + field mixer - good to go?

Greetings to all. I'm just getting started in dv and new to the forum and have a question about my gl2. A friend is hooking me up with a field mixer (samson mixpad 4) and although I've been looking at manuals online I'm still not sure if I'll be able to connect it directly to the gl2 or if I'll need another piece of equipment to bridge the gap (such as the Beachtek dxa-4p). Also, even if I won't necessarily need an xlr adapter is one desirable for the best possible audio?
I read through the previous posts but didn't see anything about this.

I don't think the GL2 has line-level inputs during camera recording. The Mixpad only has line-level outputs, if I remember.
You'll have to have some kind of attenuator or adapter to make this connection.
An XLR adapter is helpful because it maintains a balanced connection for the greatest distance and it's a secure connection. It can also do double-duty when you don't need the mixer.

Thanks Jay. I've taken your advice and ordered the dxa-4p from B + H.
