SFX Tutorials and Tips

Hi guys!

I'm quite obsessed with film now, as I recently decided to change my future plans around. However I've done some audio and music work for the past 5-6 years (I'm a big music addict). Now I figured this knowledge might help a lot when working on soundtracks or sound for film.

Anyhow, this is just a little about myself, and what I really wanted to do here is to make a few mini-tutorials about SFX you can create on a PC (and on a Mac technically, though I don't have one yet) using editing tools like Sound Forge or CoolEdit. What do you think of that? Shall I try to write some?

The first tutorial that comes to mind is creating whooshy kind of sounds for objects going through air at a great speed. If you're interested, I'll try to write the more general kind of tutorials using, say, the FX that come with the software right out of the box instead using third-party plug-ins.

Sounds great to me! Go for it. Between the DVInfo.net site and the VASST site, there is plenty of opportunity to host it.

Well, I was just going to post the tutorials here, and if they're any good, they can be posted elsewhere I guess.

Also, have to note that ways described in tutorials is just something I come up with. I'm really a self-learner in sound, so my ways of doing things may not be the shortest or best but at least they're mine :).

There really isn't a way to post images here, that's the biggest problem, which is why I mentioned hosting the tutorials. Any information that helps others make great audio is always welcome.

Ooh.. Oh, that's fine. I have a place to host them on. I guess I'll post the links here then. It'll take a bit more time in this case, cause I never use WYSIWYG editors for HTML :).
