I think B&H JUST started carrying it. Use the phone, call and ask for Kendall or Ray...tell em' Spot sent you. You'll get a great price and princely treatment.

Thanks, I'll give them a call tomorrow (I'm sure they're closed by now) and see what they have.

Are you sure that its only $200 for the complete 4053a mic, and not just the capsule? I had though this particular mic was closer to $500, but if I can get it for $200, I'll go that route instead of the AT3031

Thanks again,
Chris

No, you're looking at the price for just the capsule. I believe it's around 470.00 or so.
If you call tomorrow, remember that it's Friday and they close early for Sabbath.

As it said in my post, it's the hyper head alone that's $197.
Do you have a source for full 48-volt phantom power?
This thread started out will all battery-powered mics being mentioned. And you said you had a GL-2. Just checking.

Sorry, I misread your post and I was just wanted to clarify.

I will be using the mic with a DXA-8 which provides the phantom power. However, for budget issues, I'm going to start with a AT3031 condenser mic for now, and maybe later I'll buy something better like the AT4053 or the Sanken CS-1

Douglas Spotted Eagle, just wondering how you are going with the NTG-2?

Are you planning on doing a review of the NTG-2 at all?

Cheers
