The mics I have, useable for what? ..and my first shoot.
 

I have three mics, two of which are inherited from my music recording, but admittedly I never made much sense of the technological differences in their types, so I was wondering if anyone could give me a quick assessment of where these mics might be used on a set, location, internal, external, or if at all (in a pinch?).

1. Oktava MK 219 (I have two of these)

2. The ever so dependable (for music anyway) Sure SM58


3. Audio-Technica AT4073a (I hate to say that I actually own this mic and still have to ask, but is this what I would use, say, for an interior boom/fish pole dialogue shot?) I thought I read that these types of boom mics are really susceptible to room/wall reflections?

4. Oh, and although I guess it's not recommended to use these for serious recording, I also have the mics that come mounted to my DVX100A.

note: I could purchase a wireless lav setup but I don't get the impression that this is how most would mic an interior dialogue with moving actors.


*Although I am reading bazillions of posts on this forum as well as on cinematography.com, dvxuser.com, in addition to a handful of books, alas I'm inquiring this way because someone has asked me to help them with their 10 minute film in just a couple of weeks, which will be my first shoot (it sounds like it will be an all interior, two actors, domestic violence scenario, *I haven't gotten all the details from the director yet*, but I'm guessing the sound levels could probably end up being really quiet and really loud at times, and I don't think I'll have anyone to hold a pole, is there any notion of a boom stand or mounting the mic from above (assuming the actors won't be moving much), but then again I can't visualize no actor movement in a domestic violence scenario if you know what I mean). Well, thanks in advance for any input and feedback.
