Desperate need of help with MD

Hey guys,
So I just borrowed a Sony Minidisc recorder, and I have no idea how to work it. We are shooting in 6 hours, and I have the Bachtek adapter hooked up the MD recorder thorugh the Line in Optical plug, and then The Bactek adapter is hooked up to a ME66 microphone. How do I record and stuff?? Thanks.

The optical input is for digital signals? The beacktek puts out an analog mic-level signal, so it should go into mic in?

Some of the older MDs were tricky to record with... it was easy to delete stuff. That's from what I heard. I have like no experience with MD, but if you have an older model then watch out for that.

I see, well, with only like 4 hours left before the shoot I am ditching the MD idea and going to capture the audio right to the camcorder. I jsut thought I'd get some better quality with the MD but my damn audio people screwed up by not testing it out earlier and leaving it to me the night before. Anyways, thanks for you help Glenn!
