syncing in freerun mode fostex pd6 ( or any audio device) with varicam, what setting? at DVinfo.net

hi, we are trying to sync, a fostex pd6 with a varicam , WE WANT TO WRITE TIME CODE on both audio and video, WITH same TIME OF THE DAY,
so i set my fostex in freerun mode, (i tryed with externalmtime code also) we have same setting about frame, fostex has time code input and output via xlr while varicam via bnc, so with an bnc xlr cable we connect the two device's but i don receive varicam time code, (after that i should jam so that my internal time code would place on the receiving from varicam)

what is setting to do on varicam to to sync it with external device?
