Audio-Technica AT4462?
 

Can't find much info on this mixer. I see a used one for $425 US.

Worth it? Clean sound? Sturdy?

Anyone familier with this mixer?

I used one of these beasties a couple of times, at least ten or more years ago... . From what I recollect, it was heavy and not easy to work with for run & gun type work. (bottom mount in-out connectors) Pretty rugged though. I recall the sound quality on par with the 1st gen Shure FP32.
425usd would be too much IMO.

What about $350?

Keep in mind if its older and out of date and no longer manufactured will you be able to still get it serviced if need be? If you are after a 4 channel mixer and want to spend around 400 or so go for an SignVideo ENG44 or just rent and keep saving until you can get something better. What are your plans? I have seen your post about this mixer on another forum as well.

The Eng 44 goes for closer to $530. I picked this up for $350.

I'd rather have a Wendt or SD but those are a tad out of my price range. There are no rental places here. Closest is a 5 hour drive away in Vancouver. :(

I do video but have done sound in the past. I've never had to own a mixer before. Always used a provided LA mixer. Usually Wendt X4.
Wanted one to hook up to my HMC150. Pads, limiters, low cut and 4 ch.

So how are you liking the mixer? Also you can rent from Trew Audio they will ship to you. They have a location in Canada.

I have owned one of these mixers for many years.
The mixer is a robust mixer designed for broadcast use rather than run / gun shooting, Its great for radio and ENG / SNG TV production (what it was designed for).
Very good "Cue" function on each input, 3 Freq test tone for line checks.
Very hungry on 9v batteries but runs well on an external power supply.
If you do broadcast and can get a cheap one get it, if you do location film / video production, carry it all day or need VERY clean S/N you wont like it.

Brian, what would you compare the s/n ratio to? This one is stuck in shipping so I haven't been able to try it out yet.

The S/N is on par with a Shure FP32 but just a little worse than the FP33.
The SQN and Sound Devices are better but so is the price.
Infact nothing to worry about at all unless your doing big screen movies or "Super critical" HD TV production.

OK, thanks. yeah for "super critical" work I would get a wendt or SD.

I just bought one of these .

I saw it on eBay last night at £120 buy it now and thought it worth snapping up at that price .

I don't have a definite need for it , but I used one many years ago so know exactly what it is .
