How To Mount Rycote Windshield to Camera

I got Rycote's Windshield Kit 4 in preparation for this spring but I couldn't find something that allows me to mount it to a camera (EX1).

This is what I have: Rycote | Windshield Kit 4 - Complete Windshield and | 086001

Thanks

The Basket windshield cannot be mounted to a camera at all - it's a professional windshield system designed to be used by a sound recordist - it's designed to be hand-held or mounted on a fishpole.

It's far too large for a camera, anyway.

For camera mounting yo would need either a Rycote Softie and an InVision Video mount or a Universal Camera Kit.

The Softie gives the better protection, the Universal Camera Kit is cheaper.

I hope this helps.

I agree with John.
The whole point is to remove the microphone from the stationary camera so you can position it to achieve the best possible sound from your subject.

All the Best!

Thanks guys. Anyone have experience with the Universal Camera Kit? Is it better than the Softie?

There will be times I am shooting something by myself; so, can I use a mic stand to mount the Windshield?

It's probably going to have a 3/8" size mount thread.
You most likely will need a 3/8" M to 5/8" F adapter.
Something else to buy, but fear not, they're cheap.

I already said it - the Softie is likely the better as it is larger - the Universal Camera Kit has a small basket windshield and a windjammer.

Both will work well, but I would say that the Softie has the better performance.
