Olympus LS-11 with which Lav?
I am thinking about getting an Olympus LS-11 recorder,
what lav mic would work well with this unit's 3VDC Plug-in Power voltage? |
Practically any lav with a 3.5mm TRS connector should work. While I haven't used the LS-11, I have tried other solid state portables as well as a number of MDs. Countryman, Sennheiser, Sony, Tram and VT lavs seem to work OK.

thanks,
the DPA 4063 is the only one so far I've found that is specifically designed for 3V power supply, I've been told that most lav's need a minimum of 5 V and ideally 9V, are there any other lav's that are happy with 3V? |
Most lavs require a low voltage, low amperage 'bias current',1.5 to 5V but operate fine on less than a full 5V. Any mic needing more may have an XLR Phantom Power transformer, a proprietary battery pack or a specific pin/plug configuration on a pro body-pack transmitter.

The MKE 2 will work from under 1V up to about 12V - but the higher voltages do give the better quality. I have plugged an ME 2 into my Olympus LS-10 and it was fine. |
I'm using this one
