Trivial but annoying problem with Rode bag.

Hi,

I bought the dedicated Rode SVM bag recently (RØDE Microphones - StereoVideoMic Bag) and was amazed to find it's too small for the mic - sticks out the top, bulges out the sides and has absolutely no room for the dead kitten which is pretty much essential for all outdoor use.

So don't waste your money on this (I emailed Rode but got no response).

Anyone know of a suitable bag?

Thanks,

Geoff

Through out the few times I've taken up inquiries with Rode, they always follow through. It may take a day or a week, but I find their customer Service OUTSTANDING. Here are the two occasions that they helped me out:

-I had the Rode Videomic and I misplaced the bag of extra rubberbands that came in the box, and didn't have enough on the mic itself to be useable. I emailed rode to ask If I could buy more from them and they just emailed me back with in a day or two saying they sent them out to me. I was amazed, especially when I reallized afterward that I could have purchased them at B&H for like $5!!!

-Another Instance was that The shoe mount broke on my videomic and I emailed Rode about it asking to pay for a replacement. They promptly sent me the piece and that was that!

I really don't know If I could ever stop using their products after dealing with their customer service.

Anyone else have any great stories w/ them?

Ditto. I use this for other small items in the camera bag and bought a cheap plastic box to put the mic in.

I should update and say that Allan who acts for Rode on-line has sent me an email and advised that the issue I raised is being looked into and I should hear back soon so I concur that the customer service is proving good (though my original email to them didn't get answered but then again the site wasn't that clear what the best contact was for addressing problems so I might have sent it to the wrong address). I have no complaints about the major products Rode sell, far from it, they are excellent quality and good value for money so had no intention of warning folk off Rode generally, just that at present the SVM bag is oddly too small for the mic.
