A Normalize question
Can anyone give me a industry standard for Normalize for DVD production. Previously I have been setting this to 0.0db in Audition and Premier Pro. I see that Soundbooth uses -0.31db with no way of setting your own value - at least I haven't found a way.
I am now setting my Normalize to -2.0db in Audition, is this a good figure to use or do you have any other recommendations. |
Re: A Normalize question
I would normally use -2dBFS.
Inter-sample peaks can go higher than indicated and keeping it slightly lower means you have that safety. Some replay equipment will distort if an inter-sample peak goes over 0dBFS, even if the actual sample is under 0dBFS. |
Re: A Normalize question
Thank you John, at least my gut instinct was right.
