Videomic into G3 transmitter

I am saving up to buy a plugon transmitter and drum mic via Don Bloom's advice, but for now I would like to use my videomic a few inches in front of a speaker and send the signal to my h4n wirelessly via my g3 wireless system. Is there an adapter needed to block the battery power coming out of the g3 transmitter? Where can i purchase this? Would the videomic get me better sound than just dangling the senn. lav mic between the woofer and tweeter?

Note that the tip and ring are connected together in the VideoMic's plug. This will result in the G3's line and mic inputs being shorted together if you plug the VM directly into the transmitter.

Re: Videomic into G3 transmitter

I ordered the cl-2 cable so I can hook into the dj board and get a line level feed. Does that sound right? Is there a way I can use the rode vxlr adaptor with the cl-2 if I want to run that wirelessly?

First - talk to the Rode distributor in your country. The Videomic. may include a blocking capacitor to stop the external power.

If it does not, you will need to have a blocking capacitor in the adaptor.

Talk to Rode.
