Field Mixer for EX3/Nano

I am looking for input on a nice 2 channel field mixer that I will put on my waist band.

Be nice to have decent level meters.

I will be using a Nano on a BM shoulder brace.

Hi Paul

I've got the Mixpre model previous to the "D". Great unit. I mounted to my camera by using this

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/183476-REG/Mighty_Wondercam_Videosmith_R05_Aux_Box_for_Rover.html
and then riveting a metal plate onto the inside of the box which extended towards the back of the camera, add some velcrow and its firmly seated. Makes my XH A1 somewhat heavy but that is a good thing imo especially for handheld. With the mixpre extending further back than the the camera would by itself it also always me to brace it against my shoulder and allow for a good distance to see the viewfinder.

Thanks Jase appreciate the input. Do you also use the Nano Flash?

Re: Field Mixer for EX3/Nano

I don't use the Nano flash but should add that the limiters on the Mixpre have saved me on more than one occasion. I did a lot of research before buying the Mixpre (some 10 years ago) and for the size and price, at least at that time, it didn't have any serious competition. I don't know what else may be out there now.

Agree I think it is need. The new model looks nice and will be purchased unless I hear of a better option.

At this time I am going to hold off on a MixPre D. From my research it will not improve the audio on my EX3 since it has to go back into the EX3 preamp which is the weak link.
