This could be a bit of thread but hear goes

Can anybody give me a quick tip and settings set up for the PD170 and the sennheiser ew 100 g2 radio Mic's i don't seem to get it right, both the receiver and the transmitter are set at 839.100 and i know their are loads more settings, the audio comming from the r/mics is very distorded, which is the best setting?

Thanks

The distortion could be because of locallized radio frequency interference, but you didn't say enough to rule out the other very common problem--improper level settings in the audio chain.

Thanks Fred

What do you set yours at Ive tried different settings and struggled to get it right, on the cam+ the radio mic's

The output of the receiver is Line, not microphone levels. There should be a level output adjustment on the receiver as well.

I've moved this thread to the Sound forum as it then is exposed to a lot more folks who talk about this subject.

I've also deleted the postings that don't carry the question forward in this new Forum.

I use the 112's but should be the same. Make sure you input is set to LINE on the 170 and NOT MIC. That sounds to me what you are hearing is because the MIC is set and not LINE.

AS far as transmitter sensitivity it really depends on the talent how sensitive you should set it. I have had good success with -10db and groom mic'd and it picks up the bride and officiant as well. Of course when the GROOM yells it clips, but -10 seems to work good for me..

Now maybe someone else could offer a suggestion here as for the AF OUT. I seem to only be able to get a good result by setting it to +18 for the AF OUT. That doesn't seem normal to me to have to use the highest setting so maybe I have something else that needs to be turned up.

Thanks
