Sony ECM 673 and Zoom H4n
I shoot events with multiple cameras and currently get my main audio feed through a Sony ECM-673 plugged into a Canon XH-A1. I now work mainly with HDSLR's and am about to completely retire the XH-A1. Hence I need a new separate audio solution. Does anyone know whether the ECM-673 would be compatible with a Zoom H4n?
Many thanks in advance for taking the time to answer, it's greatly appreciated. Henry |
Re: Sony ECM 673 and Zoom H4n
I don't have an ECM 673, but I've used the H4n with a variety of microphones that require phantom power via xlr with good results.
It should work fine, within the limitations of the H4n. I've seen complaints about its auto-gain, but, I never use auto, so, haven't shared this concern. If auto gain is essential to you, you should search out these messages here. |
Re: Sony ECM 673 and Zoom H4n
Thanks very much Seth for such a quick and helpful response. I don't generally use AGC but it's good to know that there are issues with this. I'll make sure to monitor my audio very carefully if I ever have cause to turn it on.
