Hissing and interference

We are using a wireless Sennheiser G2 setup with my DVX100a and we've been using it for the whole month without any problems. Yesterday, we had a bad hissing and popping sound. We tested the transmitter and reciever with another camera, XL2, and there was no such disturbance. We only have this problem when we connect the reciever to the DVX100a, and even this problem is intermittent, so we think it might have something to do with the XLR inputs of the camera. Anyone have any input or suggestions?

I hate to try the obvoius, but have you checked batteries? Hissing and pops sound like weak, but not dead, batteries.

Michael,

Hissing and popping are indicative of interference or a low battery. You may not have had these "symptoms" on the XL2 if in a different local or if using phantom power on the XL2.

Hope this helps?
