Altering dialogue
 

Hey guys,

I've got some dialogue that I need to make sound like it came out of a loud speaker at an event. Does anyone have any tips on how to do this?

I have access to Avid Media Composer and Audacity. I've played around with the EQ without much luck, so any advice would be really appreciated :)

We';ve played the original sound recording back through a loudspeaker in a suitable acoustic and recorded that for use in the film. A quick way could be to use EQ and give it some reverrb to match your location.

Not a bad idea.. Might try and get my hands on a loud speaker.

I did try to play around with the EQ and reverb, but it just ended up sounding terrible. Then again, I'm no expert when it comes to audio.

Some EQ and a slap-back echo is the simplest.. adjust the delay time and feedback/repeats to the size and character the space one is trying to simulate.
Many hardware and software reverbs have a lot of room presets which would be a good starting point.

Thanks guys. Got it sorted by cutting out the high and low freqs, and adding some reverb.
