Onboard Mic for Ag-Ac90

Hi

Can anyone recommend a reasonably cheap onboard mic for my camera? Its only going to be used for ambient sound so a high quality mic isn't needed. Would the built in mic be enough for this do you think or would I be better off with an external onboard xlr mic?

Thanks

I should point out I already have a Rode Video Mic with a 3.5mm jack. Would I be better off just getting a 3.5mm to XLR jack for this?? Do they work ok or do they create any interference?? Can you recommend one as I believe there are different ones for Stereo and Mono?? The Rode I believe is a mono mic??

Rode's VXLR adapter should work fine. Note that mounting the mic on the camera is going to increase the likelihood of it picking up handling noise, zoom and focus motor noise, etc. besides being totally unsuitable for dialog recording.
