Bluetooth mics

Hi guys,

I've seen some impressive tests with a Sony Bluetooth mic. It seemed like a pretty inexpensive solution for when you have 2 people talking from a distance coming towards the camera. The thing is you only have one mic per receiver. Does anyone know if it would be possible to use 2 bluetooth mics with one receiver?

Re: Bluetooth mics

I doubt it as you can normally only use two receivers with one transmitter.

I also heard that bluetooth can be very unreliable with drop outs and interference from other sources but it may be useful for certain non critical applications.

Re: Bluetooth mics

The Bluetooth microphones I have used had significant latency which rendered them unsuitable for serious production.

The Bluetooth protocol does not support multiple senders to a single receiver. Wireless microphones or any other kind of Bluetooth device.

There are special DUAL-channel receivers which are actually TWO receivers in a single box. Those are the ONLY kind of "receiver" which can handle more than one transmitter. Of any protocol.

This is correct - I would not use Bluetooth for video work.
