Time code frame rate for 60i?

Can someone confirm that the frame rate on a SoundDevices recorder should be set at 29.97 fps if recording at 48kHz?

IME this is a mine field. I wouldn't take anybody's word for it.
I would perform the experiment on the actual equipment.

If the camera is shooting 60i, Why would the sound recorder be told that it is 29.97?

There is no setting for 60i. It stops at 30. I always thought that 60 fps is in reality 59.94. Half of that is 29.97.

Re: Time code frame rate for 60i?

60i is indeed 29.97 frames per second. The 60 refers to 60 fields, rounded up from actual 59.94 fields. Two fields make a frame. So 59.94 fields = 29.97 frames.

Thanks
