Question about adjusting Shure M267
 

Hey all, I use a Shure M267 mixer for my legal depositions. Everything works fine, however the VU meter does not "seem" to work. Someone told me it may just need adjusting. Anyone familiar with this on this particular unit? I am always a little jump when adjusting something that's working ok.

Don't know if this helps but my M367 can definitely be adjusted and I have re-calibrated mine to have 0VU=0DB .775v or 4 PPM.

I can't see the same detail in the M267 manual though but there is a range switch on the rear panel:

The VU meter is factory-calibrated for use with a 600 Ω terminated line. The VU RANGE switch on the rear panel selects either a +4 or +8 dBm output at 0 VU meter indica- tion. (This switch changes the meter indication but does not change the actual output level.) Microphone output levels are 50 dB below line output. The +4 range is recom- mended for normal use to provide approximately 14 dB of headroom from operating level to clipping level.

We have an M267 at work so will take the top off and see if it has the same calibration as the M367.

Thanks Gary, I made a mistake, I HAVE an M367. I tried the dip switch with no joy, will try the adjustment when I get home.

M367 is easy to adjust and calibrate and it may just be a dirty pot if the VU is not working properly but I seem to recall mine being set very low so that is why I re calibrated it.

Good luck and the on board tone generator can be very useful for setting up too.
