Tascam DR10SG vs 10X

Yo everyone,

I'm looking to get a new recorder and these seem to fit the bill, but there's a few things I'm having trouble finding info on - could anyone help me out?

I'm looking for something that's camera mountable, and obviously the 10SG is spot on, but I'd love to hear some outdoor samples of it. Does anyone here have some?

Is there a way to add phantom power to the DR10X ? This would be the perfect recorder IF it had phantom power. Is there a similarly sized alternative?

Edit: I just found and ordered this to try. Seems to tick all the boxed, just need to add a cold shoe mount to the bottom https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ..._recorder.html

"Is there a way to add phantom power to the DR10X?"
- Not without an external Phantom Power supply. The AC powered ones are affordable but not very portable. Many of the battery Phantom Power supplies only put out a maximum of 12, 18 or 24 volts at the most. The 48V battery powered Phantom supplies from Whirlwind and Denecke are usually in the $200 range and it's still another awkward device to deal with.
I suspect the B&H/Saramonic recorder is quite new and made in China. There are no specs and little info available.

Getting something like a Tascam DR70D or Zoom F4 to put under your camera would be a much smarter idea. Massively more capable, and better quality.
