Booming with AT 4053a?

Continuing the vein of my Rode NT5 question, any general impressions of booming with an Audio Technica 4053a? How is it doing "double duty" for general narration, voice-over and ADR recording in studio? Or with live performance music?

The only complaint I have with my 4053a is the powerful bass response, even when the roll-off switch is engaged. This can make it effectively less directional depending on the circumstances. There's no equally effective alternative though at this price point.
It works for narration and VO, being much warmer and beefier than most small-diaphragm mics when employed this way.
I haven't used one for ADR. Music is really what it's designed for.
