More than one soundcard?

I've just ordered an M-Audio Delta 1010LT soundcard. My PC currently has a SoundBlaster Audigy card fitted. Is there any advantage to leaving the old card in there? Will it cause problems if I do?

Thanks in advance.

Doesn't much matter either way, in my experience.

(Delta 1010, Echo Mia, mobo soundmax all peacefully co-existing)

Your mileage may vary, any SB drivers are notorious for not playing well with others. But it will likely work just fine.

(came down squarely on two sides of the fence on that, sorry!)

I have both an Audigy and a M-Audio Firewire 410 connected. The FW410 has inputs and my stereo monitors on it. The Audigy has a 5.1 "game quality" system connected. For my audio and video work, I select the FW410's ASIO drivers. For gaming, i select the Audigy. Most sound-intensive applications allow you to select what audio drivers to use.

I have had zero issues with this setup.

Thanks for the reassurence.

I have installed the Delta 1010LT alongside the Audigy card. Both cards appear to be functioning OK, though I've not had the chance to make any serious tests yet. I also moved my modem card (smaller than the others) up one slot to make room for the new card, and now I can't make the modem work, but that's a different problem...!
