Samson Wireless Mics - A good Choice?

Well, I'm hoping (with a bit of luck) to get a wireless mic setup for Christmas, but, of course, I don't know which one to ask for. I know Seinheisser mics are considered to be some of the best, but I also know that if I ask for a $600 wireless mic for Christmas, it's not gonna happen.

I'm wondering about the quality of the Samson kit linked below:

Can anyone offer me any points as to whether this is a good choice? Thanks in advance for any advice!

I've got one that I've used for three years.

Flawless.

I have two of those Samson kits and they've worked well for me, although one of them seems to have developed a loose connection or something. Overall I'm happy with them.

I've been considering this as well for my VX2100.

It only comes with the XLR connection? Also, is it just a single frequency unit?

I actually have the frequency-adjustable kit, which is listed here:

The Samson receivers have both XLR and unbalanced miniplug outputs, so you can connect to your camera either way. There's also a gain control and a dB limit setting, which is adjustable to -10, -20 or -30.

Well, thanks to everyone for their input! It sounds like the Samson is definately a good wireless system to go with.

However, I ended up going out and buying a Sennheiser kit (EW100ENGG2C) from B&H. (I ended up putting an AT897 shotgun on my Christmas list instead of the wireless kit.)

Hopefully, I'll be just as satisfied with the Sennheiser kit as you all are with the Samson kits :)

I'll be sure to post my experience with the Sennheiser kit!
